Local hotels and restaurants in Kuta

Whether you are coming to Lombk to check out the place and our land before you commit or you are just coming as a tourist, here is some useful information about where you can stay and eat while you are here. On top of the list below, we have access to a house at a modest rent for anyone who wants to stay for a month or more for some or all of the process.

In the past the only Hotels were an hour and half from Kuta in the town of Sengiggi. That is where all the action was, as Sengiggi was close to the old airport. However with the new airport just 20 minutes from Kuta and the stunning beaches here, Hotels and homestays have “sprung up” and there is now a good choice.

If you look on the internet most hotels listed are all in Sengiggi or North of there, so if you don’t want to chance it by just arriving in Kuta, Then hopefully the list below will help you. You can check some out on Trip Advisor, Booking.com and Agoda, but be wary of the reviews. Also some of the hotels and homestays listed under Kuta Lombok are in fact in Kuta Bali so buyer beware.

Many of these new places do not have a web site. Most people just arrive, look around and choose a spot to settle. Below are a few of the ones we like:

Expensive: (over $100 AUD)

Novotel Hotel:

4 star on the Beach a little out of town. Different rates  depending on the choice of room or  for added privacy a villa with private pool.  Great to just relax and activities for the kids. Right on the beach.

Kuta Horses:

I would LOVE to stay here. Very Private. Truly stunning setting with to die for views along Kuta beach. And yes you can go horse riding. Not for the wheelchair bound though, as there are steps to climb. It is everything a tropical island hideaway is supposed to be.  Yes there is a Pool. They can sort a driver for you or you can choose to stay in and relax and have all your meals cooked for you. Run by an interesting Frenchman who has been here for a while now.

These are some of the restaurants in Kuta that we find appealing. Each one has something on the menu that we really like;

Novotel:

Nice at the beach bar with a drink but the main restaurant is over rated and overpriced.

Ashtari:

Worth it just for the view alone!  Stunning views across Kuta Bay. Vegetarian and a new extended menu. Moderately priced

Dwikis:

Pizzas are the main delight here. But all pretty good.

Gecko:

Pizza and Mediterranean, and mixed cuisine Lombok style

Summit:

Near Ashtari. Fantastic views. Well priced food.

Nuggets corner:

Near the Sunday market area. Good tucker

Sunset:

To the west of town. Good seafood and local dishes

Ketapang:

Near the beach and great to just sit and have a beer and a bite to eat.

CHILLI:

To the west of town. Fab chilli crab, garlic prawns and other little delectables

Dulang:

Try the chicken cashew.

The Mexican in Town:

Fresh authentic Mexican.

Drifters:

Good burgers. Try the "Adi's Burger"

Milk Espresso:

Best coffee in town and great food and cakes.

Krink :

Good breakfast and open all day.

El Bazar:

Mediterranean / Moroccan

Gula's Garden:

Real cocktails. Good variety of great food.

The Bus:

Fab tacos and fund drinks.

Near Kuta

Herman Turtle Bar and Cafe:

At Tanjung Aan beach.

Drop in Cafe:

On the road to Gerupuk. Excellent feel. Great food and cakes.

There are many other Local Warungs serving delicious Lombok style food…Take a chance. What have you got to lose? ($2) Ha.  We think that is worth the risk.

Most of the above serve alcohol especially beer. If you go anywhere not mentioned here and the food is sensational, then tell us about if on our Facebook page so we can add them to our list.

Milk Espresso Spa

Matcha
